The station was heavily damaged in WWII by V2 rockets; it was first repaired in 1986. Major changes were completed in 2007 to allow high-speed trains. Level 1 has trains terminating in Antwerp, Level -1 has trains also terminating, and Level -2 has high-speed trains. Ticketing is on Level 0.
This immense hall escaped much of the damage that affected the rest of the station.
